b. a social unit consisting of one or more adults together with the children they care for: a single-parent family.
In this definition ,we are defining the family as a group consisting of parent(s) and their children. The family is there for the child to talk about their fears and challenges. To express their joys, sorrows, to grow and be nurtured. The family is the support unit.
The parent has seen and been through many things in life and the parent has wisdom to share. The wisdom can help ease the pain if something does not work out the way the child expects. Like not making the cheerleading squad, soccer team or football team. The parent is their to give encouragement. A parents love is powerful.
Today we have so many families that have experienced the loss of the their child by suicide because of bullying. The child has given up hope and decided to end it all. To end all the pain, they decide take their life.
To the children/teenagers:
Do not give up, hold on and reach out to your family and friends. Talk about your feelings, let someone know what you are going through at school and with friends.
No matter what the hardship, know that you are somebody. God has made you in his image. He knows every hair on your head and you were created with a purpose. Yes, you have purpose. Do not give up, you are worth more than rubies, diamonds or any other precious stone. You are one of kind, unique. No one else can do you like you do you. You are wonderfully made. God loves you! Jesus loves you!
To the family that has gone through the lost of a child by suicide because of bullying. My heart goes out to you. No parent wants to lose a child. I can only imagine how much you are hurting. Know that God loves you!
Do not give up!
