Proverbs 19:11 English Standard Version (ESV) 11 Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.
There will always be someone who going to say something that will make you mad. Take a moment and think about what you are going to say. We are to be quick to listen and slow to get angry. Now it is not a sin to get angry. Even Jesus got mad and over turned the tables in the temple. We are not sin in our anger. In that moment when you are about to respond, it is okay to walk away. The person trying to provoke will either be speechless and shut up or they will follow you. Yeah, they will come right behind you still talking. Just keep walking. You are protecting your heart. Over look the hurt words that was spoken. Easier said then done. I know.
Personally, I do not like to argue. If I see that you are blowing someone out of perspective, I will walk away. I am not going to have that conversation with you. I then pray to God and ask God to help me. Just keeping it real.
Be Blessed!
