Spiritual Warfare

For the past couple of weeks I have not been feeling like myself.  Finally, I felt a break through and felt like myself again. I could not figure out why I was not feeling well, but was thankful that I was back to normal.

Over the past week or so, I have started to spend more time worshiping the Lord in songs on a daily basis. During this time, I sensed the presence of God even more. My spirit is becoming more in tune with God.

On one particular day, I noticed that after an event, I felt like I felt a few weeks ago. Then my spirit quicken  and I  spoke ” I rebuke the spirit of cloudiness”.  There was a spirit trying to attach itself to cloud my thinking. I told that spirit it had to go.  If I had not been spending more time with God, my spirit would not have been in tune with God and I would be back in the same state I was in previously. Not happening.  By speaking the word of the Lord, the spirit had to leave my body.

Ephesians 6:12 King James Version states ” for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I was in spiritual warfare and did not know it.  I knew something was not right but could not figure out what and why.  Thank you God for quickening my spirit and telling me what to speak.  God is good!

Dear Lord,

May we become more in tune with your spirit, so that we can conquer the evil spirits that attempt to attack us. Be one with us. In Jesus name.

Amen!

Be Blessed!

Second Chances

Have you ever found yourself asking for a second chance to make things right?  Image if God did not give us a second chance.  Image if God did not put in the heart of our friends, families, jobs etc. to give us a second chance. I know my life would not be the same.

Thank you Lord for giving me a second chance to get it right and get on purpose. To God be the glory.

God gave Jonah a second chance to get it right.  Jonah was not obedient to God and went to Tarshish instead of Nineveh.

Jonah 1: 1-3 King James Version (KJV) 1 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. 3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.

Due to his sin the men on the boat could have perished because of the sea was raging. After casting lots to determine who was the one who caused this situation, they threw Jonah out of the boat.

Jonah 1:15-17 (KJV) 15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.  16 Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord, and made vows. 17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Jonah 2:10 (KJV) 10 And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

This was Jonah’s second chance. God spared his life by having a fish ready to swallow him up and not eat him. He was in the belly of the fish.  Jonah went off to do the work of the Lord and the people of Nineveh repented. Due to Jonah’s obedience, the people of Nineveh received a second chance too.  In both cases, God showed mercy and love.

Tithes- Giving Our Best

Genesis 4: 1-8  King James Version (KJV) 4 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. 2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

In the text we see that Cain and Abel were bringing their offering to God.  Abel brought the 1st of his flocks and Cain brought of the fruit of the ground.  Both brought their offerings to God and only one was accepted. That was Abel. Abel gave his best to God. Cain did not.  Now, God said to Cain “if thou doest well, shall thy not be accepted”?  This was a do over opportunity.  Even though Cain did not get it right the 1st time, he was given another chance. But, Cain became angry at Abel, because God did not accept his offering.  Ahhh, did not God just give Cain another chance to present is offering?  Cain did not see the opportunity to present God with another offering. All he saw was rejection and he saw that Abel was accepted. Cain was jealous.  The jealously Cain was so bad, that he killed his own brother. Wow!  Yes this is a Wow moment.  The opportunity was there to redo the offering and have his offering accepted by God. Instead, he killed his brother. It would have been better if Cain would have given his best in the beginning, then Abel would not have been killed.  Not sure how that would have changed Bible history.

We as Christians need to give our best in our tithes and offerings to God.  Let’s not look at what someone else gives. Let’s look at ourselves and our relationship with God. If our tithes and offering moves us, surely it will move God.

Be Blessed!

The Temptor

Why is it that so many people say ” God has tempted me?  It is not God, but our own desires that are causing us to go in the wrong direction.  In the 1st chapter of the book of James it states in versus 13-14:

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (James 1: 13-14 King James Version )

God can not be tempted and He will not tempt anyone to do wrong.  God is good and God is love.  If this was not true, He would not have given His son Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice to give man the ability to become part of the Kingdom of God once again. God wants to have a relationship with His creation that He made in His image.

Be Blessed!
