Confession

You ever read something and when you read it the 2nd,3rd or 4th time, you get an understanding that you did not have before? For our scripture focus today, I got a better understanding.

Confession is good for you. Really? Yup!  What is even more amazing to me, I found it in the Bible.

Psalm 32:3-5 New Living Translation (NLT)

When I refused to confess my sin,
    my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long.
Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.
My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Interlude

Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

So, we see that when you confess what ever the issue is, the guilt is gone.  Remember when you were little and you did something wrong and you felt bad. Especially when you did something to a friend. It was not until you said sorry, that you felt better and the guilt was gone. There is something about speaking truth that is freeing to the soul.

Be Blessed!

Peaceful Beauty

As I move about the day and move through the rain, I have to acknowledge the beauty of the day. The grey sky with a light background, which let’s me know the sun is wanting to break through. The Son of God, Christ Jesus wants to break some things up in our lives, so that we can have joy and peace.

John 16:13 English Standard Version

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Do you want joy and peace? Allow Christ to come into your space today.

Peace and Love

Power in Words

Proverbs 15:4 King James Version

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

We have the power in the words that we speak to uplift or bring down. We are called to give hope to others, not hatred or gossip. Rise up my brother and sister and speak life.

Be Blessed!

Proverbs A Nugget of Knowledge – Correction

  1. Proverbs 28:23 King James Version He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

Correcting one when they are in error puts the corrector in a better light to the receiver of the correction. Although they may not like what is being said, they will be grateful in the end that the person cared enough to take the time out to help put them back on the right way.  Truth is not always easy, but it is right.

Be Blessed!

Challenges of the New Day

The challenges of a new day are the same for everyone. Really?   If you are still on this earth moving and breathing, yes the challenges of the a new day are the same. We begin to think about the day, we begin to move portions of our body and we open our eyes.  After this, some pray to God or the little god. Some are thankful and some wish they were still asleep as the task ahead is too heavy. It is a choice to pray or not to pray. You can be positive or negative, it is still a choice. Today, I encourage you to be positive and choose life. Choose things that are for your good.

If you are struggling, there is a Savior, Christ Jesus who wants to help you and I. He tells us in Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

No matter what the challenge is, we can rest in Christ Jesus. He will give us the strength to go on and give us the direction needed to make it through the day.

I choose to rest in God. The choice is yours.

Who Sharpens You

Proverbs 27:17 (Message Bible) You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another.

Our focus text points out that one friend sharpens another. To better explain this text, is the friend(s) that you hang around whose behavior is good/bad, in due time you will begin to pick up their ways. Take care to pay attention to the things that you begin to do when you are in your friends company. If you begin to do something that is not good, you need to change whom you hang with, until you are strong enough to sharpen them, instead of them sharpening you.

Proverbs 20:13 King James Version (KJV)  Love not sleep, lest thou come into poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

Poverty is defined as a state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions according to Merriam Webster Dictionary.

What we see here in scripture is if you want to be able to achieve a certain amount of money or possession, you can not sleep all the time. One needs to work. Money is a means for getting things needed for survival. Now to get the amount of money you want, one must educate themselves. Education, getting knowledge and understanding is a key.

Proverbs 4:5-9 (KJV) Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Let us all strive to educate ourselves to remove the lack in our lives.  Let us share what we learn and help some one remove the poverty in their lives.

Wisdom

Image result for wisdom pictures

Proverbs 8:19-23 King James Version (KJV)  19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. 20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: 21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. 22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

In our scripture text, we have some nuggets, like wisdom is better than gold and silver. Those who have wisdom inherit material things. What strikes me the most, is verses 22 and 23rd, The Lord possessed me in the beginning of His way before His works of old, I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning or ever the earth was.  Wisdom was with God and God has wisdom. The Lord says if we want wisdom ask Him.

James 1:15 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. KJV

Wisdom is important for all to have in every aspect of life. It will help one stray from danger and make good choices. Who does not wisdom?

Resolution

How to resolve conflict at work in just five daysHow to resolve conflict at work in just five daysHow to resolve conflict at work in just five days

Image result for resolve a problem

During the beginning of every year, we hear “New Year Resolution”.  Resolution is the act of resolving. Resolving is to deal with successfully; to clear up. Are there issues that you want to resolve in 2017?  Are there issues that you carried over from 2016 to 2017? I encourage you to write them down and come up with a plan that will allow you to resolve. Take baby steps. Once you complete one part, reward yourself as a way to keep motivated and push forward. Change is good and resolving to make a change that will benefit your life is most important.

Genesis 2:7 King James Version (KJV) And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Mind, body and soul. Remember to feed your mind good food, which are good thoughts. God created us in His image and we are part spirit. The words that we speak are seeds. Seeds grow.

Proverbs 18:21 KJV Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Choose to speak life over yourself today. Stay positive.
