Proverbs 20:13 King James Version (KJV) Love not sleep, lest thou come into poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
Poverty is defined as a state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions according to Merriam Webster Dictionary.
What we see here in scripture is if you want to be able to achieve a certain amount of money or possession, you can not sleep all the time. One needs to work. Money is a means for getting things needed for survival. Now to get the amount of money you want, one must educate themselves. Education, getting knowledge and understanding is a key.
Proverbs 4:5-9 (KJV) Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. 6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. 9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
Let us all strive to educate ourselves to remove the lack in our lives. Let us share what we learn and help some one remove the poverty in their lives.

Proverbs 8:19-23 King James Version (KJV) 19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. 20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: 21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. 22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
In our scripture text, we have some nuggets, like wisdom is better than gold and silver. Those who have wisdom inherit material things. What strikes me the most, is verses 22 and 23rd, The Lord possessed me in the beginning of His way before His works of old, I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning or ever the earth was. Wisdom was with God and God has wisdom. The Lord says if we want wisdom ask Him.
James 1:15 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. KJV
Wisdom is important for all to have in every aspect of life. It will help one stray from danger and make good choices. Who does not wisdom?
During the beginning of every year, we hear “New Year Resolution”. Resolution is the act of resolving. Resolving is to deal with successfully; to clear up. Are there issues that you want to resolve in 2017? Are there issues that you carried over from 2016 to 2017? I encourage you to write them down and come up with a plan that will allow you to resolve. Take baby steps. Once you complete one part, reward yourself as a way to keep motivated and push forward. Change is good and resolving to make a change that will benefit your life is most important.
Genesis 2:7 King James Version (KJV) And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Mind, body and soul. Remember to feed your mind good food, which are good thoughts. God created us in His image and we are part spirit. The words that we speak are seeds. Seeds grow.
Proverbs 18:21 KJV Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Choose to speak life over yourself today. Stay positive.

There are many times in life that we struggle with how we respond with our speech or our body language regarding how others approach us. If we are in a large crowd we may lash out and yell. If we are in a secluded area, we may speak quietly. If we are in meeting at work, we just may speak our mind with no regards to anyone else.
The Bible tells us to walk in wisdom and let our speech be with grace and seasoned, that we may properly answer. (Colossians 4:5-6) How we respond is important, as we want others to be kind and patience with us. We want others to listen to what we have to say. We are to be quick to listen and slow to answer. (James 1:19) Seek first to understand and be able to discern if we should respond. Somethings our ears to listen, is all that is needed.
How will you choose to respond?

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord and He ponders all his paths. His own iniquities entrap the wicked man. Proverbs 5:21-22.
Iniquity is immoral, unfair behavior. There are times that our behavior is wrong and we think that no one sees. God sees all things. Everything we do has a good or bad consequence. If the path chosen is one that is evil, cheating, lying or stealing, the end of the path leads to destruction. So, why not change directions and do good and find life.

So many times in life we all seek for wisdom and knowledge. We study the area of interest and we even practice. How many of us actually seek wisdom and knowledge from God? Colossians 3:2 King James Version states ” In Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge“. Then in verse 9 it states, “ for in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily”.
The Lord has the wisdom and knowledge that we need to be successful in every area of our lives. Yes, we need to study and learn the craft, but God gives the insight that no man sees or understands.

10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. 11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. 12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. 14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

When one is in error, they should be corrected. One wants to make sure they are performing the task correctly. Showing correction is a form of love.
Proverbs 3:11-12 indicates my son do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.
The Lord corrects whom He loves and we should do like wise.

Proverbs 14:27, The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snare of death.
When we fear the Lord and follow His ways, we are turning away from sin. The Lord protects us. In the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy there are blessings that are ours if we continue in the way of the Lord.
Deuteronomy 28 King James Version (KJV)
28 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. 9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways. 10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee. 11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. 13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: 14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
As a member of the Kingdom of God we have rights to all the blessings that God has for us. In order to receive the blessings we must honor God and obey his word. Do you want to have the fountain of Life that God has for you?
