Genesis 4: 1-8  King James Version (KJV) And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

In the text we see that Cain and Abel were bringing their offering to God.  Abel brought the 1st of his flocks and Cain brought of the fruit of the ground.  Both brought their offerings to God and only one was accepted. Abel gave his best to God and Cain did not.  Now, God said to Cain “if thou doest well, shall thy not be accepted“?  This was a do over opportunity.  Even though Cain did not get it right the 1st time, he was given another chance. Cain became angry at Abel, because God did not accept his offering.  Cain did not see the opportunity to present God with another offering. All he saw was rejection and he saw that Abel was accepted. Cain was jealous. The jealously of Cain was so bad, that he killed his own brother. Wow!

The opportunity was there for Cain to redo his offering and have the offering accepted by God. It would have been better if Cain would have given his best in the beginning and maybe Abel would not have been killed.  Not sure how that would have changed Bible history.

As Christians, we need to give our best in our tithes and offerings to God.  Let us not look at what someone else gives. Let us look at ourselves and our relationship with God. If our tithes and offering moves us, surely it will move God.

Be Blessed!

Tithing

When one accepts the Lord Jesus as their Savior they are now apart of the Kingdom of God.  They are now children of God living in this world but not of this world.  They are set a apart, peculiar.

Our wealth and riches and health are tied to the Kingdom of God, not the earth or the economic system.  The Kingdom of God operates in sowing in reaping.  He who sows sparingly with reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will reap bountifully.

Malachi 3: 8-11 KJV states;

8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. 12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delight some land, saith the Lord of hosts.

When we give Lord the tithe, 10%, we giving to God what is required according to His kingdom principles.   We are required to pay taxes to the government, right?  We should also pay the tithes to the Lord.  In paying the tithe, the Lord is saying He will bless us with what we need and more.  In order for God to bless us, He has to get us to give what is in our hands.

When we give the Lord what is due to him, he also stops the evil one from stealing from us.  He will make us fruitful. Then He says all nations will call us blessed!  Wow, so by following the kingdom principles set by God, paying tithes will cause God to bless me. Wow!  That is good news!

Be Blessed!

Harvest

You can not get a harvest until you 1st sow a seed. The seed has to planted then in time, there will be a harvest. While the earth remains, there will be seed-time and harvest time. Genesis 8:22

The sower went to sow his seed. Some seed fell on bad soil and some on good soil. The ones that fell on the bad soil, immediately sprung up but died because it had no root. The ones that fell on good soil, yielded some crops. Some hundred fold, some sixty and some thirty. Matthew 13:1-9

We represent the sower who is planting the seed. The seed is our money. Depending on where our money is being sowed will render either an abundance or lack.  If we sow our money into the Kingdom of God, God will bless it and multiply it.  Bring all the tithes into the store house so that there may be meat in my house and God will pour out his blessing. Malachi 8-10  In the Kingdom of God there are all types of precious stones and the street of the city is made of pure God. Revelation 21:18-21 In the Lords prayer we are asking God’s will be done on earth.  There is no need for money in heaven the need is here on earth.  Sow into the Kingdom of God to provide for the spreading of the gospel and you will rep a harvest.

Be Blessed!

Giving Our Best – Tithes

Giving Our Best

Gensis 4: 1-8  King James Version (KJV)

4 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.

2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.

4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.

That was Abel. Abel gave his best to God. Cain did not.  Now, God said to Cain “if thou doest well, shall thy not be accepted”?  This was a do over opportunity.  Even though Cain did not get it right the 1st time, he was given another chance. But, Cain became angry at Abel, because God did not accept his offering.  Ahhh, did not God just give Cain another chance to present is offering?  Cain did not see the opportunity to present God with another offering. All he saw was rejection and he saw that Abel was accepted. Cain was jealous.  The jealously Cain was so bad, that he killed his own brother. Wow!  Yes this is a Wow moment.  The opportunity was there to redo the offering and have his offering accepted by God. Instead, he killed his brother. It would have been better if Cain would have given his best in the beginning, then Abel would not have been killed.  Not sure how that would have changed Bible history.

We as Christians need to give our best in our tithes and offerings to God.  Let’s not look at what someone else gives. Let’s look at ourselves and our relationship with God. If our tithes and offering moves us, surely it will move God.

Be Blessed!

Tithes

Proverbs 3:9-10 (KJV)

9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase:

10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

The word of the Lord instructs us to give tithes,  which is 10% of our increase.  This instruction is for all Christians. Not some Christians, all Christians.  In the text above we see that we are to honor the Lord with the 1st of all of our increase.  This means, we are to pay the tithes on the gross, not the net.  In doing so, the word says our barns (houses) will be have plenty. Do want to have plenty?  I know I want to have plenty.

Be Blessed!
