Affliction and Laughter

 

Many times in life affliction comes our way. It may be a relative, friend or ourselves.  Our response during that time and after that time is important. Are we going to stay upbeat in spite of the situation and try to find the positive? I am not saying it is an easy task to do, in the midst of pain, but laughter is a good medicine. It releases that tension and bad toxins from the body.

Proverbs 17:22 King James Version; A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Today in spite of the situation, find something to be thankful for and remember how far you came. Then laugh,yes rejoice and release all the negative thoughts from your mind.

Change and Advance

 

In the book ” Who Moved My Cheese” it states ” Things change and they are never the same again. This looks like one of those times. That’s life! Life moves on. And so should we”.

People do not like change. Shucks, I do not like change especially if I am enjoying what I am doing. If there is no change, there is no advancement. How can you move forward if you remain in the same position? You can not. We must be adaptable,not so much that we lose focus on who we are or our purpose.

The question is do you want to move forward and change? Or would you rather stay in the same place complaining and watch others around you advance?

Storms in Life

In the midst of the storm, there generally is a way of escape. The question is will you take the escape route or it is meant for you to ride the storm out? Some storms of life we put ourselves into and some storms of life are not expected.  That is just called life. Things happen.

In the Book of Matthew Chapter 8:23-27 verses it tells a story how the disciples and Jesus were in ship at sea and a strong wind came and the disciples thought they were going to die.

²³ And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. ²⁴ And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. ²⁵ And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. ²⁶ And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. ²⁷ But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Jesus spoke to storm by rebuking the winds and the sea.  That same spirit of Christ is in you and I. What ever situation you are in today, believe God that you have the faith to ride it out. If you need a way of escape, believe God for direction and He will see you thorough.
