Psalms 91- Nuggets

Psalm 91 King James Version (KJV)

91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Nuggets

1. When we abide in the Lord, we allow the Lord to protect us. In the 91st chapter of Psalms we see that Lord will protect us by covering us in verse 1. As we are speaking the word of the Lord, the enemy can not see us. All the enemy is seeing is the Glory of God.

2. There is no fear as God takes it away fear. Thou shall not be afraid for the terror by night;nor for the arrow that flieth by day, verse 5 of Pslam 91.   The Bible also tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7.

More nuggets to come.

Be Blessed!

Overcome Evil with Good

Romans 12:21, Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

In our world today, we have a lot of haters. Yes, we do! A person is disliked because of their eye color, skin complexion, ethnicity, big lips, small lips, big eyes, little eyes, their teeth, their walk or talk. Boy the list can go on for pages.

These people are envious. Where there is envy and strife there is every evil work. The devil is in the center of the ring just having a blast causing chaos.

When we are nice to the hater and pray for the hater, things will begin to change. First they will be confused. They are thinking to themselves, have they gone crazy? I just cursed them out and they are being nice! Now let’s be real, we really wanted to turn around at that moment and give them a piece  of our mind. But we remembered the word of the Lord and asked the question what would Jesus do? 🙂

If you are having a difficult time with someone treating you wrong, be nice. Pray for them and watch God work on your behalf. Watch God change them before your eyes. You just may make a new friend.

Be Blessed!

It’s Friday!

Friday has finally come. The work week has come to the end. Two days of relaxation on the horizon. Now to complete this Friday with bang, let’s ask God for strength and grace.

Dear Lord I pray that you give me the grace to make it through this day. LORD you are my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in you will I trust. You are my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. God you girdeth me with strength, and make my way perfect. I thank you for helping complete all the tasks that need to be done this day. I thank you Lord for being able to see, walk, breathe and work another day. May your glory shine through me and in me this day, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Be Blessed!

The Love of Money

The Love of Money

Matthew 6:24

The Message (MSG)

24 “You can’t worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you’ll end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can’t worship God and Money both.

Money is needed to live here on earth.  Money is needed to purchase food, clothing and shelter. Let it be known that nothing is wrong with having money.  It is blessing.  It is when money becomes a god problems start.   As the scripture states we can not serve two gods. There is only one living God and He made money.  God has the ability to give us wealth.

2 Corinthians 9:8-11 (The Message)

God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done. As one psalmist puts it,He throws caution to the winds,  giving to the needy in reckless abandon. His right-living, right-giving ways  never run out, never wear out. This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.
If God can do so much for us and give us such a blessing so that we can be a blessing, why is money made a god.  Money can not make us wealthy, healthy or give witty inventions to obtain wealth.  God can do all these things and more.
On this day and the days to come, serve only God with the big G. Let the god with the little g know that God is in control.
Be Blessed!

The Doors

There are opportunities in life that will allow us to branch out into uncharted waters.  These opportunities are opening doors to new outlooks, a new way of thinking and having us to fulfill our purpose.

The opportunities may seem scary as it is something that we never did. We thought about it, but never pursued it. We wondered what would people say about us and what if I fail?

So there are two doors that we can choose from to pursue the opportunity.  The first door is flashy, with lots of noise going on behind the door. The road looks promising. The people have fine cars, dress nice and look happy. The road behind this door is so wide that you cannot see the end and there are lots of people on this path. The second door is also flashy, with lots of noise going on behind it too. However, the noise is not the same as behind door one. This noise causing one to do a double take. Is this shouts of joy or shout of pain?  The people behind this door has something in them that shines through. Behind this door there is water flowing on the floor and the people are walking in water as if they do not see the water.  The road behind this door is narrow and you can not see the end. There are not as many people on this road as there are on the road behind door one.

1 Corinthians 3:8 (KJV) Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

What door will you take, door one or door two? No matter what door you choose you will be rewarded according to your labour.

Be Blessed!

Listening Ear

The heart of the righteous studies to answer. Proverbs 15:28 (King James Version)

As Christians we are to be slow to answer and quick to listen.  One can avoid conflict by just listening. Listening is giving your attention to the individual speaking so that you can understand what is being told. If you do not understand while the person is talking, wait until they are finished speaking to ask. Only God knows our thoughts before we speak.

It is when we listen to all that the person has to say we can then properly respond to the question or statement.

Contentious

Proverbs 26:21 King James Version (KJV)

21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

It is amazing how many times I have read a passage in the bible and not notice a scripture. It is like am just going through the motions and not comprehending. In the reading of the Book of Proverbs the contentious woman always jumped out     to me and I heard it preached. Now the verse I am referring to refers to a contentious man. The contentious women is     mentioned twice and the contentious man is mentioned once.

Contentious means to be tending to argument or strife; quarrelsome; causing involving or characterized by argument  or controversy.

Just as a woman can cause arguments and strife, so does the man. Wow!  Stop looking to cause an argument. Stop looking for the wrong in someone. If you look for the wrong, the bad and the ugly, you will find it. All have sinned and fallen short. Seek the good and not the bad. Love forgives a multitude of wrongs.

Be Blessed!

2015 Blessing

2014 was the year in which God was bringing His people into spiritual perfection and completion. Some areas of our lives were changed for the better and we were changed. We are different. We sound different and  think different.

We start 2015 off with a different mind-set. The number 15  is made of two numbers 1 and 5. 1 means an ambitious leader, smart and energetic. 5 means Mercury, planet of business and finance.

In biblical terms the number 15 means to rest. Yes, rest. This year my we as people of God rest. May we rest in God arms and may we not pick those things back up which God has broken off of lives.  May the financial struggles be gone and may we be just as God spoke in the book of Deuteronomy.

Deuteronomy 15:6 King James Version (KJV)

For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

Deuteronomy 28:13 (KJV)

13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath;

Be Blessed!
