Adversity

Today is a great day. The car broke down on the highway on my to work.  I called my husband and he sent my oldest young men to assist me.  My choice now is determining how I shall  respond this matter. Shall I be mad or be thankful that I am okay and I have towing? I choose to rejoice! Now I wait for the tow truck. Estimated arrival time 8:37 am. Yikes!

Beloved how will you choose to respond  today when adversity comes your way?

Exercise

Exercise is important to maintain our body. The more we move, we maintain our muscle mass. Muscles burns more calories than fat.  Now we do need some fats, but not excessive.

Some of us are more fine tuned than others and you can see that hour-glass or chiseled look.  Some of us are working to get that point and some of us are waiting for that urge to put the body in motion.

As we exercise our body to become physically fit, we also need to exercise our mind to acquire knowledge.  Knowledge is power. The more you study and practice in your area of choice, the better you become.  In our daily tasks of becoming a better worker, student, teacher, husband or wife. We can find that knowledge needed on in the Bible. Like the book of Proverbs. Proverbs is considered the Book of Wisdom.

Proverbs 25:16 (KJV)  Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.  Here we see if we eat too much food, we will vomit. We only eat what we need to sustain us.  I know this will be a challenge. I love sweets. I have a candy dish at my desk just in case I want something sweet.  Will I get rid of my candy dish? Nope! But I will cut back.  Right after I finish that Mr. Goodbar  candy bar.  Just joking! I will only eat a few.

Remember, exercise the body and the mind.

Be Blessed!

Waste or Increase

God is a creator. He increases and does not allow waste.

In the parable of the talents we see that master gave 3 servants some talents.  One he gave five, one he gave two and another he gave one. Each servant was given according to his own ability.  The master left and would return at an appointed time excepting to reap from what was given to his servant.  Upon his return, the servant who had 5 talents earned 5 more. He was made ruler over many because he was faithful with the little that was given to him.  The servant who had 2 talents earn 2 more. Likewise, he was made ruler over many because he was faithful with the little that was given to him.  They both were told to enter in the joy of their lord.  The servant who had one talent earned nothing. He hid the talent in the ground.  The one talent was taken from the servant and given to the one that had 5.  Why?  The servant did not use is talent, he wasted it by hiding it.

Our talents are given to us by God to be used and  shared with others to show the love of God.  How can we brighten up someones day with a smile, if we never smile? If the smile was meant for us to see, we would see our smiles without needing a mirror or something that has a reflection.  If our songs were not meant for others to hear, we would have not need to hear.

Do not waste your talent, use it for the glory of God.

Be Blessed!

Judgment

John 19:6 King James Version (KJV)

6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. 11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

In the text Jesus has been delivered to Pilate to be crucified.  Pilate was wrestling with the fact that Jesus was going to be killed, but he gave the okay of the crucifixion of our Lord as it was foretold.

What stands outs out to me is Jesus’ response to Pilate. ” Therefore the one who delivered me to you has the greater sin”.   How many times are people charged  wrongly and they are innocent?  We see this on a daily basis.  God knows the injustice.  He knows how great the wrong. The one who committed the wrong will be judged!

Psalm 50: 1-2,4-6 King James Version (KJV)

The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.
