The Just Will Be Remembered

 Proverbs 10:7 King James Version (KJV) 7 The memory of the just is blessed.

When I read this portion of scripture “ the memory of the just is blessed“, I think of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King was a just man, who stood for what was right in the time of adversity. It was during this time because of the color or your skin, you were not allowed to sit at the same restaurants or sit on the same part of the bus or go to the same school of those who were Caucasian or be considered a whole person of worth. Dr King fought for all to be treated equal.  Reverend King made a difference to the whole world and to this day his memory and his vision lives on. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr is the only non-president to have a holiday in honor of his life.

The Birth of Jesus – Conception

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign; The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (God in mankind). Isaiah 7:14 (KJV).  In the days of prophet Isaiah, the Lord said he will give a sign of the Savior.The 4 gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John tell the story of the birth of Jesus.

The Birth of Jesus Foretold –Luke 1:26-38 (New Living Translation)

²⁶ In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, ²⁷ to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. ²⁸ Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!^[d]”

²⁹ Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. ³⁰ “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! ³¹ You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. ³² He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. ³³ And he will reign over Israel^[e] forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

³⁴ Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.”

³⁵ The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. ³⁶ What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month. ³⁷ For nothing is impossible with God.^[f]”

³⁸ Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.

So here we have woman of great faith.  She hears the word of the Lord and quickly accepts the call.  May the words spoken come to pass.

This is the 1st part of the birth of our Lord, the conception.  We have the seed of the Lord placed in Mary’s womb by the Lord. God in mankind. The blood of the child is from the Father not the Mother.  Therefore, Jesus is conceived without sin. Blessed be the name of the Lord!  Now that is amazing!

Halloween

Today is the day the children will be out gathering candy.  We have people going to alternative events for Halloween.  In what ever event you choose, have fun and go in a group.  Here is some Halloween history I found on the web.

Straddling the line between fall and winter, plenty and paucity, life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. It is thought to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts. The evening before was known as All Hallows’ Eve and later Halloween. In a number of countries around the world, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people continue to usher in the winter season with gatherings, costumes and sweet treats.
