Confession

You ever read something and when you read it the 2nd,3rd or 4th time, you get an understanding that you did not have before? For our scripture focus today, I got a better understanding.

Confession is good for you. Really? Yup!  What is even more amazing to me, I found it in the Bible.

Psalm 32:3-5 New Living Translation (NLT)

When I refused to confess my sin,
    my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long.
Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.
My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Interlude

Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

So, we see that when you confess what ever the issue is, the guilt is gone.  Remember when you were little and you did something wrong and you felt bad. Especially when you did something to a friend. It was not until you said sorry, that you felt better and the guilt was gone. There is something about speaking truth that is freeing to the soul.

Faith Words

Matthew 8:8 King James Version (KJV)

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

Words of Faith will create a new life for you. Just speak the word.

Be Blessed!

Power in Words

Proverbs 15:4 King James Version

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

We have the power in the words that we speak to uplift or bring down. We are called to give hope to others, not hatred or gossip. Rise up my brother and sister and speak life.

Be Blessed!

Proverbs A Nugget of Knowledge – Correction

  1. Proverbs 28:23 King James Version He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

Correcting one when they are in error puts the corrector in a better light to the receiver of the correction. Although they may not like what is being said, they will be grateful in the end that the person cared enough to take the time out to help put them back on the right way.  Truth is not always easy, but it is right.

Challenges of the New Day

The challenges of a new day are the same for everyone. Really?   If you are still on this earth moving and breathing, yes the challenges of the a new day are the same. We begin to think about the day, we begin to move portions of our body and we open our eyes.  After this, some pray to God or the little god. Some are thankful and some wish they were still asleep as the task ahead is too heavy. It is a choice to pray or not to pray. You can be positive or negative, it is still a choice. Today, I encourage you to be positive and choose life. Choose things that are for your good.

If you are struggling, there is a Savior, Christ Jesus who wants to help you and I. He tells us in Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

No matter what the challenge is, we can rest in Christ Jesus. He will give us the strength to go on and give us the direction needed to make it through the day.

I choose to rest in God. The choice is yours.

Blessings

Training

Every one goes through training. Each individual starts training as a baby through adulthood.  Training can be in sports, robots building  or for specific job. The purpose of training is to gain skills, knowledge and experience in a particular area.

Training is generally time-consuming and sometimes it may be painful, for the trainer and the trainee. The trainee must have a willing heart and be willing to follow instructions. The trainer leads and the trainee follows. In the end, the trainee will be able to stand. They now have a foundation.

The Bible tells of story in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 6:45-49 verses, about a man. Let’s read.

45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. 46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

The story is telling us that a good heart brings good and an evil heart, evil. Also if one follows the way of the Lord, they will be like a house build on rock, which is a sure foundation. The following of the Lord is training. The training is in reading the Word of God (the Bible), praying, attending Bible Study and following the Pastor. You are being prepared for the job that the Lord has called you to do. One can not go out and teach on Spanish, if they do not know how to teach and they do not now the Spanish language. The trainee must be willing to follow and follow instructions. In the end,the foundation is sure.

Is Your Response Seasoned?

Image result for cartoon caricature confused

There are many times in life that we struggle with how we respond with our speech or our body language regarding how others approach us. If we are in a large crowd we may lash out and yell. If we are in a secluded area, we may speak quietly. If we are in meeting at work, we just may speak our mind with no regards to anyone else.

The Bible tells us to walk in wisdom and let our speech be with grace and seasoned, that we may properly answer. (Colossians 4:5-6) How we respond is important, as we want others to be kind and patience with us. We want others to listen to what we have to say. We are to be quick to listen and slow to answer. (James 1:19) Seek first to understand and be able to discern if we should respond. Somethings our ears to listen, is all that is needed.

How will you choose to respond?

Blessings!
