You Shall Not Be Moved

Psalm 55:22-23 King James Version (KJV)

22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. 23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

Give all your pains, sorrows and troubles to God. God promises to keep you.  If you have a case in which it appears as though you are being neglected, God is working behind the scenes on your behalf.  You will not be moved as God has put you exactly where he wants you to  be.  The ones who are against you, will be removed.

Be Blessed!

Our Help

Psalm 54:4-5 King James Version (KJV)

Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.

All of God’s children have an assignment that God has purposed for them to do. God also has assigned people to help them fulfill their assignment. Then there are people who see their purpose and are out to make them fail.

Not only will God make your enemy your foot stool, He will support those who help you!

Be Blessed!

I am an Olive Tree

Psalm 52:7-8 King James Version (KJV) , Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

The olive tree has many symbolic meanings.  In the text the Hebrew word  is zayith ( רַעֲנָן ׳ז ) meaning fresh, (thriving) olive-tree (simile of prosperity).

When an individual puts their just in their our strength and riches, they will be like the certain rich man in Luke 12:16-20 (KJV);

16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
The Olive tree also symbolizes the tree of hope, the tree of light and the tree of wealth.
The tree of hope: In the Old Testament a dove returns with an olive branch in the ark, in order to announce the end of flood and bring hope to people.

The tree of light: The olive oil was used as lighting oil and thus it was considered to be source of light.

The tree of wealth: For many families the olive trees and their products represent the main source of income.

When we put our trust in God we are thriving and prosperous in the house of God.  This is exactly what GOD wants for his people.

Be Blessed.

Parent Driving Lesson

When our oldest son got his drivers permit, I decided he could drive home after the test.  So, I have him start the car and we go through the motions of talking about the mirrors, brakes, gas etc.. We drive out of the parking space and proceed to the end of the parking lot which leads to the main road. He put on the signal and goes to make the turn. The turn was wide, not bad, easy fix. We now have to merge into a busy street and we make the turn. Again, wide turn. Then we go to make a right turn, we are up on the curb and down the curb.  Now, I am speaking sternly but in a low tone, so I thought!   We continued down the road and my is son moving along, but he is not understanding the concept of braking and we go up on the curb again. Why are you going so fast I ask?  The boy is only going 10 miles per hour and it feels like 50 to me.  From my seat, I see flashes of possible accidents with the cars, trees and telephone polls. A 10 minute drive to our home turned into 25 minutes. We finally make it home and we are up on the curb.  He parts the car in front house on the curb. No need to move it I said.  Just put the car in park and turn it off.  I get out of the car and my legs were shaking.  I am not a drinker, however, I would have took a drink that day to calm my nerves.  Eventually my oldest son got his license. Yes he is an excellent driver. However we had some moments when he did scare the socks of us.

Lesson learned, do not let your child drive home after taking his driver permit test. He is still wet behind the ears.

Now our middle son got his drivers permit and  I did not let him drive home. No way. I drove home. Parent driving lesson number 1 took place at the High School with no cars.

Now son number 2 is learning on the side streets. He is getting better. According to our middle son , I stress him out because I panic. Really?  🙂 The oldest son can no jump out of the car and say boy a 10 minute ride took us 30 minutes.

We will have 1 chauffeur and 1 in the making. We do not have to go back to the store anymore to grab that item that was not on the grocery list. We just say, oh Son!!!!

Be Blessed!

Healing Scripture

Exodus 23:25 King James Version (KJV)

25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

For our obedience, God has given us healing.

Set A Part

John 17:18-19 King James Version (KJV) 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Sanctify means to set apart for a sacred purpose.  Jesus said that He has set Himself apart so that we may be set apart through truth. We are set apart to be light to the world.

God at Work

John 16:33 King James Version (KJV) 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

When people are speaking bad about you do not have to respond. Your works speak for you.   God’s word was given to us that we can have peace not matter what the circumstances.    Be of good courage, you will overcome! Let Go and Let God work on your behalf.

Be Blessed!

Proverbs – Read the Word

Proverbs 4:20-22 King James Version (KJV) 20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

God’s Word is life to our flesh, mind and body. “Let them not depart from thine eyes“, means we are to read the word not just memorize it. Our eyes are the gate to our soul and we need to keep our eyes focused on Him.

Be Blessed!

Preserving

It is that time of year when we plant crops so that we may harvest them to eat, earn and save money. We save money because we do not have to go to the local store to purchase the desired crops planted.  The harvest may be big or small, none then less it can not be eaten all at once, so we preserve them.

Preserving is to prepare food or any perishable substance so as to resist decomposition or fermentation. Just as we want to preserve our food, God wants to preserve us.

Psalm 145:20 (King James Version) The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.

Be Blessed!

Your Job

John 6:26-27 King James Version (KJV)

26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

The job that we have so that we may live, is not to be the priority. Yes, we need money here on earth to make it, but the job should not be first.  Sow into the Kingdom of God by giving of yourself, study the Bible and spend time with the family. Your family is your ministry.  Teach them to reverence God and teach them how to lean on Him.

Be Blessed!
